With so much on offer in such a small bay, it’s almost impossible to run out of things to do in Oludeniz! From perfecting the tan on one of the stunning beaches, to taking to the sky for a flight (or fright) or your life¦you can get as much or as little as you want out of your holiday. Here are a few pointers:

Visit the Blue Lagoon: You can't possibly come to Oludeniz without spending time around the lagoon. As one of the most famous sites in Turkey, it is a must see on any visit to the area. Pay a small entrance and head onto the famed arm for a day of sunbathing, water-sports or drinks in one of the cafes, or head to one of the many private beaches like Sugar Beach or Seahorse where entrance is free and a shuttle service can take you to and from your hotel on request. A great day out for the family!

Daily Boat Trip: Book a day-trip and lazily cruise the coastline stopping occasionally for a dip in the clear waters of a local bay. Soak up the sun, have a few drinks and eat a light lunch of BBQ fish or chicken on board then return to shore around 5pm in time for sundown. There are a number of boats that vary in size running trips from the beach front every morning. Either book via a local office or direct but keep in mind that cheap booking prices can mean a packed boat and expensive drinks on board so shop around for the best deal.

Water Sports: Hire a speed boat, take a banana boat ride or get towed across the bay parasailing. Lots of water sports are available on the beach front and by the lagoon and they are a great way to add a little action into your day.

Paragliding: Oludeniz has been a popular destination for paragliders for many years and regularly attracts solo and tandem pilots from around the world. The area is famed for hosting the International Air Games every October where the craziest of aerial artists can be seen pulling all manner of stunts from free-falling, skydiving and paragliding, to jumping from micro-lights and hand gliding a truly spectacular sight! For those that fancy a go tandem flight this is easily arranged in resort with many companies offering trips. Flying is fantastic and the majority of the tandem pilots well trained and professional but you should be aware that your travel insurance may not cover the activity. Be sure to choose a good, insured and well established company like Sky Sports on the main central pedestrian street.

Micro-lighting: A safer alternative to paragliding is micro-lighting and there is a local English/Turkish owned company offering 25 minute flights across the lagoon and Butterfly valley locally. Imagine a go-kart with wings and you will get the idea. Offering free pick up services, fully qualified pilots and flights throughout the morning and late afternoon, it’s a great way to see a little of the area and capture that all important picture of the lagoon.

Watch the sunset: What could be better than sitting yourself in a roof top bar, ordering an ice-cold Efes or a beach cocktail, watching the paragliders lazily fly by, and staring out at the sea as the sun sets through shades of yellow, orange and red? There are some wonderful sunset vantage spots along the front, particular favourites include Buzz Bar, Help, Crusos or simply sitting on a bench, eating mussles from a street vendor and taking in the beauty of Oludeniz at sundown.
